The launch of Windows 7 will see another addition to the Microsoft Operating Systems (OS) family. If the current beta testing is successful, Windows 7 will be created with the word ‘compatibility’ as its backbone. It has been designed to be compatible with similar programs and hardware as Vista OS and comes with a re-designed Windows taskbar, multi-touch support and several other key performance improvements.
In addition to the above, the new OS will also feature advancement in touch and handwriting recognition, virtual disc support, and kernel enhancements. Perhaps the most noticeable change of all, however, is the absence of the quick launch toolbar which has been replaced by an enhanced taskbar that allows programs to be pinned to it (almost similar to the MAC OS). To visit the official download page and be a part of the Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) testing, click HERE. Once installed, your computer will send the necessary information that is needed to verify and fix changes automatically to the Microsoft system engineers without interfering with your daily activities.
According to the official download instructions, in order to install and use the RC, you will need to do the following;
- Troubleshoot problems
- Burn an ISO file to make an installation DVD
- Install Windows
- Backup and restore your PC
- Set up a network
- Create and use a system recovery disk
System requirements
1 GHz processor (32- or 64-bit), 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of available hard drive space, DVD-R/W and support for DirectX 9 graphics processor with 128MB of memory or more.

I hope it isn’t as bad as Vista. In my opinion, Vista was garbage. It uses too much memory and makes completing the most simple tasks very difficult. Here is what one of my vista sessions looks like.
ME: Copy – Paste
Vista: Do you want to copy this file to this location?
ME: Yes
Vista: Did you just hit yes?
ME: Yes
Vista: Are you sure?
ME: Yes
Vista: Sorry, you can’t copy to that location.
